Therapy for When Your Mind and Body Won’t Slow Down

If you’re here, you may be exhausted from trying to manage anxiety that seems to run every aspect of your life. You might feel constantly “on,” overwhelmed by stress, trapped in cycles of rumination and catastrophic thinking, or just unable to relax - even in moments that should feel calm.

Physically, you may be noticing signs in your body such as: tightness in your chest, tense muscles in your jaw, neck, and upper back, shallow breathing, restlessness, numbness, insomnia, or a sense of being disconnected from yourself and others.

You may be high-achieving, highly sensitive, deeply creative, or someone who has always carried more than your share, and who feels both exhausted and wired at the same time. Perhaps you’ve experienced trauma or emotionally chaotic and abusive relationships that left your nervous system on high alert. Or maybe you’re an actor, artist, or performer coping with the pressures of visibility, high sensitivity, perfectionism, and self-doubt, or who feels unsettled by instability in your schedule, finances, or the state of your industry.

Whatever brings you here, you likely want more than just short-term relief or symptom management. You want stability, clarity, and the tools to make real change. You want to exhale, feel your nervous system settle, and for your life to feel like your own again.

How Therapy Can Help You Regulate and Recover

When anxiety takes over, it affects everything: your thinking, your relationships, your confidence, your energy, your sleep, and your health. Working together, we can create a grounded plan that supports both your emotional and physiological experience of anxiety.

In therapy, you can learn to:

  • Understand your nervous system rather than fight against it

  • Break cycles of panic, rumination, chronic stress, and hypervigilance

  • Improve emotional regulation and reduce overwhelm, dissociation, or numbness

  • Rebuild your sense of safety, stability, and internal trust

  • Create strong boundaries that protect your energy and well-being

  • Move through creative blocks and the perfectionism–procrastination–paralysis loop

  • Heal from trauma, relational wounds, and long-term patterns that keep you stuck

How I Work With Anxiety

Each case is unique and I aim to offer a deeply supportive, holistic path towards healing. I bring a blend of clinical expertise, trauma training, and 20+ years of mind–body experience to the therapy room. My therapy style is grounded, direct, and compassionate. I’m not a passive, nod-your-head kind of therapist - I am active, collaborative, and focused on helping you gain practical skills you can use in your daily life.

My approach integrates various modalities of talk therapy alongside nervous system education and support, body-based and trauma-informed modalities, tools from yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices, and eastern and western philosophical traditions. When it comes to anxiety and trauma, insight-based talk therapy may not be enough to make lasting change. Our work together will address your physiology and your daily habits as well as your mental state.

I am trained in evidence-based, somatic modalities, including:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model)

  • Brainspotting

These modalities help reduce anxiety at its source by working with the brain and nervous system directly.

I also integrate specialized mind–body, somatic approaches, including:

  • Breath work, grounding, and resourcing practices

  • Polyvagal Theory informed nervous system regulation tools

  • Mindfulness and meditation techniques

  • Gentle movement and postural awareness

  • Trauma-informed yoga therapy and Yoga Nidra

  • Visualization and guided imagery techniques

This combination supports deep emotional work while helping your body feel calmer, safer, and more resilient.

My Background and Specialties

I am a Licensed Psychotherapist & Trauma Specialist, a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and yoga teacher, and a former performing artist with a long-standing passion for helping people transform the patterns that hold them back. I am also the author of Mindfulness Workbook for Panic Attacks (published by Rockridge Press), which offers practical strategies for managing panic, reducing anxiety, and finding moment-to-moment awareness.

I work especially well with:

  • Individuals experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, complex trauma, and burnout

  • Survivors of trauma, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and narcissistic abuse

  • Adult children of narcissists and those rebuilding identity and self-trust

  • Artists, performers, musicians, creatives and entertainment industry professionals navigating high pressure environments and creative blocks

  • Highly sensitive (HSP) and neurodivergent individuals

  • High achieving professionals and perfectionists

  • Health care professionals and healers navigating burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury

  • Those seeking a mind/body or somatic approach to healing

My therapeutic style is warm, active, direct and a little bit irreverent. I provide perspective, feedback, and encouragement while helping you challenge patterns that no longer serve you. I believe you are the expert on you, and that my role is to guide, support, and empower you as you develop resilience, clarity, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Your nervous system may have been in survival mode for far too long. Therapy can help you build the inner stability you’ve been searching for.
