THERAPY FOR ARTISTS & CREATIVES IN LOS FELIZ, CA
You don’t need to explain your world here.
And you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?” - Talking Heads
You’ve already accomplished so much. You know what you’re capable of—and you care deeply about your work. But everything surrounding it is starting to seriously wear on you. There’s pressure to keep performing, producing, or showing up at a high level. Expectations—both internal and external—don’t really let up.
You might find yourself pulled in multiple directions at once, trying to balance your work, your relationships, your health, and your sense of self.
At times, you feel confident, and at other times, you feel overwhelmed with doubt. It’s not because you don’t know what you’re doing—but because the stakes feel high, the environment is unpredictable, and the pace isn’t always sustainable.
You may want to set better boundaries—but worry about how that will be perceived, or what it could cost you. You may feel burned out, stretched thin, or disconnected from the part of you that actually loves what you do.
And whether you’re well-established or just getting your footing, there’s often a deeper question underneath it all:
Is this sustainable?
The demands of the industry are constantly shifting and things like visibility, relevance, income, opportunity, AI, strikes, and industry changes only add another layer of uncertainty and stress. It can start to feel like what’s required to keep going in your field is at odds with what actually supports your creativity, your nervous system, and your life.
And over time, that disconnect (understandably) leaves you feeling anxious, exhausted, or unsure of what your next move even is.
there’s often a deeper question
YOU COULD BE HERE AS:
-
You feel like you’re constantly being evaluated—your talent, your body, or your presence
You’re stuck in the cycle of waiting and waiting…with very little control over what happens next (and when)
You regularly replay conversations, auditions, or performances in your head, and it’s hard not to wonder if you said the wrong thing, made the wrong choice, or missed your shot
You freeze in auditions, or experience stage fright or performance anxiety
You feel uncomfortable in your own skin, experience body dysmorphia, or relentlessly compare yourself to others
-
You feel torn between focusing on your craft and keeping up with industry demands (social media, PR, etc.)
The highs of performing are intense, but the crash afterward is just as real
Life on the road can take a toll on your sleep, physical health, and relationships
You might find yourself relying on substances more than you’d like
There’s trouble setting boundaries or communicating clearly with teams, bandmates, or collaborators
-
You’re carrying the pressure of the blank page, knowing it’s all on you
Projects come together and fall apart constantly, and it’s wearing you down
You're constantly waiting for projects to be greenlit, or if they have been, feeling the pressure of delivering on time and at a high level
Deadlines and shooting schedules are often unrealistic and it might feel impossible to have a sense of work/life balance
-
Perfectionism turns into procrastination, and suddenly you’re in a loop you can’t get out of (again)
You’re pouring so much of yourself into work that takes time, with no guarantee it will be seen or valued
You’re navigating a rapidly changing creative landscape that feels harder and harder to sustain
-
You’re often supporting someone else’s vision—while your own ideas get pushed aside
Work/life balance feels almost impossible to maintain
The “feast or famine” cycle of work creates ongoing stress and instability
You regularly deal with long hours, unrealistic deadlines, and constant pressure for things to be perfect
YOU NEED (AND DESERVE) A THERAPIST WHO UNDERSTANDS YOUR WORLD.
I get this world—not just professionally, but personally. Before becoming a therapist, I built my own career in the creative space. I trained in theatre and performance in New York and London, and worked as an actor across stage, film, music videos, and voiceover. I’ve experienced firsthand the intensity of this path: the highs, uncertainty, pressure, and constant need to keep going even when things feel unstable.
In addition to my experience in front of the camera, I’ve worked behind the scenes in production, as a story analyst, and in leadership roles within a theatre company. I’m also a published author and writer, which gives me insight into the creative process from multiple angles.
Because of this, there’s often very little you need to explain to me. I work with both emerging, established, and high-profile artists and creatives, and I understand how different those experiences can be, from trying to break in to sustaining success under visibility and pressure. This work is always tailored to you—your goals, your process, your nervous system, and the realities of your unique industry.
More than anything, I understand that creativity isn’t just what you do—it’s who you are. And it shapes how you move through life on a deep level.
How I Can Help
YOU CAN LOVE YOUR CRAFT WITHOUT SACRIFICING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.
Ultimately, this work is focused on you—where you feel stuck, what’s happening in your body, and what’s getting in the way of both your work and your life. So we build practical support first—tools to help your system settle, structure that works with your brain, and boundaries that protect your time and energy.
I may also bring in somatic work, using breath, movement, and mindfulness to help you access your creativity again and feel more grounded, capable and inspired by the work you're pursuing
From there, we can go deeper—processing patterns, experiences, traumas, or painful experiences, and beliefs that may be impacting your confidence and your ability to trust yourself.
We’ll also take time to explore the complicated realities of being an artist:
THE EMOTIONAL…
You feel things deeply—which helps you create, but can lead to overwhelm
This world feel like it wasn’t quite made for you, and values you hold don't line up with what society tends to reward
You move through cycles of perfectionism, procrastination, and paralysis, caught between what you know you're capable of and the frustration of not being there yet
Surface-level interactions leave you cold—you’d rather go somewhere real and deep, or not bother at all
Sometimes your mind is moving faster than everyone around you, which can be both energizing and isolating
THE PRACTICAL…
Being met with deadlines or schedules that don’t respect or understand the creative process
How systemic factors like ageism, racism, and sexism impact you both personally and professionally
People making decisions about your work who don’t fully “get it” or treat things without intention or care
The simultaneous pressure to stay visible and the fear of being too visible
Unpredictable income, “feast or famine” cycles of work, or being asked to work for free
Coping with difficult or antagonistic personalities can be exhausting or downright harmful
Of course this impacts more than just your day-to-day: it can bring up a deeper sense of disconnection, and even grief for what you imagined your life or work would be. Therapy is about helping you reconnect with yourself and create something that still feels meaningful, authentic, and yours.
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN YOUR LIFE—AND YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM—ARE FINALLY ALIGNED:
Your uniquely wired sensitivity is something you honor and embrace
The critical voice softens and the authentic voice gets louder
Your body becomes a place to return to, not escape from
The pressure to “get it right” gives way to actually making something
Trust in what you’re creating, even when no one else understands it yet
Failure becomes a stepping stone (and a key part of the artistic process)
A stronger sense of self, even in uncertain or intimidating environments
The way you’re wired is a gift. And the world needs what you create from that.
THIS WORK IS ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO UNDERSTAND AND EMBRACE YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF.

COMMON QUESTIONS
-
Yes. This is one of the biggest tensions creative professionals face. We’ll explore how to stay connected to your voice and values while also navigating the realities of your industry in a way that feels sustainable and aligned.
-
That’s not uncommon and something I hear quite often. Many of my clients already have insight into their patterns, but haven’t experienced real or lasting change. My approach combines depth work with practical tools, and includes the body and nervous system—not just simply talking about things.
-
Yes. This is a really important part of sustaining a creative career, and it’s something many people struggle with (especially in industries where the lines between personal and professional can blur quickly).
We’ll look at where your time, energy, and attention are being pulled, and where you may be overextending or feeling taken advantage of. From there, we work on setting boundaries that are clear, realistic, and aligned with both your well-being and your long-term goals. This might include communication with agents, managers, collaborators, or clients, as well as boundaries with your own time, availability, and creative process. The goal isn’t to shut people out (in many cases, that wouldn’t even be an option), rather, it’s to help you show up in your work and relationships in a way that feels sustainable, respectful, and grounded.
-
Yes. Burnout is very common in creative fields, especially when you’re balancing inconsistent work, high pressure, and a deep personal investment in what you do.
We’ll look at what’s contributing to the burnout on multiple levels: your workload, your nervous system, your relationship with your work, and the expectations you’re holding yourself to. From there, we focus on helping your system recover while also creating a more sustainable way of working. I understand you may be concerned about this process causing you to lose your drive or ambition—it won’t. Instead, we work to find a way to keep creating without constantly running yourself into the ground.

Working with artists and creative professionals is a central focus of my practice because I’ve been a part of that world and remain connected to the creative industry. I understand the pressure, unpredictability, and emotional intensity that come from taking this kind of path.
Alongside that lived experience, I bring extensive clinical training in trauma, anxiety, and mind-body therapy. My approach integrates somatic work, nervous system regulation, and depth-oriented therapy with practical tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life.
This allows me to support creatives in a way that feels grounded, relevant, and personal—especially for people who think deeply, feel intensely, and are looking for something beyond surface-level work.
-
Yes. Whether it’s auditions, performances, social media, or public-facing work, we’ll work on both managing the anxiety in the moment (and beyond) and understanding what’s driving it underneath—so it doesn’t keep running the show, and instead becomes something you can work with, rather than against. You can learn more about my work with anxiety here.
